  Had family dinner at Gaucho last night. We liked the setting with jazz music. We ordered mocktails as we do not drink wine. I liked my mango & passion fruit crush, better still if more mangoes than passion fruit was used. My husband's ginger crush and my son's Pan Americana were also nice.

  For starters, my husband and I ordered braised back ribs (I cannot tolerate spicy food so mine was without jalapenos). The meat was tender and full of flavour. We loved that. My son tried the salmon ceviche and found it delicious too.

  For mains, we ordered 2 rib eye steak and 1 fillet steak. All medium rare. They were good, but could use less seasoning on the steak. I changed salad for the chips, and fillet steak came with vine roasted tomatoes and humita salteña (sweet fresh corn ground blended with milk, cooked in oil, then wrapped in the husks and steamed.) We enjoyed our steak.

  I like desserts and chose mango mousse. My son loves cheescake and tried the Dulce de leche cheesecake. I liked the mango mousse which was smooth and light. My son was already full, but still finished the whole piece of caramel-like cheesecake with a cup of expresso. My husband ordered cappuccino which was good too.

  Overall, we had a nice dinner at Gaucho. Thanks to Cat who served us and was very friendly and professional when she explained the steak to us.

  Recommended if you like a modern steakhouse with good service and cool drinks.
