By paying loving homage to rich heritage of cuisines from the Asian subcontinent, BlackSalt is a small boutique restaurant located in a beautiful space in Hong Kong, where Chef-Owner Taran Chadha has preserved traditional recipes and adopted innovative techniques to bring a progressive approach to modern food.

The menu is concise and lists short eats – from herbed meat roasts to spiced vegetable fillings laden with a variety of masalas, karis or sambals all bursting with intense flavours of spicy, savoury, sweet and sour. Each dish is accompanied with a choice of sourdough flatbreads, sorghum rotis, authentic hoppers or wok-cooked pilaf rice served with a selection of sharp pickles, homemade chutneys and crunchy greens.

Booking Policy:
Due to our limited seating capacity, we accept reservations preferably made by email to info@blacksalt.com.hk or via Facebook messenger. The window for phone reservations is from 12pm to 6pm from Monday thru Sunday. Anytime after 6pm, we may not be able to answer your call during service hours.

Pre-bookings currently require an advance notice of 3 days for weekdays & at least 5+ days for Friday/weekends. Closed on Tuesday.

We do two sittings per night: first is from 5:30pm-8pm & second from 8:30pm-11pm (10pm on Sundays; Closed on Tuesday).

Table bookings are held for 15 minutes only & will be released thereafter. Weather permitting, bookings for outdoor seating will not be re-allocated inside if the main room is full.

Table selections provided at the time of your booking is tentative & we reserve the right of final decision on table arrangements based on your group size & availability.

Large bookings of 7 people or more requires a pre-select set menu & a 50% non-refundable deposit must be made 3 days prior to your booking date. Please email info@blacksalt.com.hk for details.

HK$350 for the first wine or sparkling 720ml bottle, thereafter HK$250 per wine or sparkling 720ml bottle; and, HK$450 for the first 720ml Champagne bottle, thereafter HK$400 per Champagne 720ml bottle.

Corkage charge for other alcohol bottle types & sizes will be charged accordingly provided you inform us at the time of confirming your booking.

Cake Fee:
HK$150 per cake (limited to 2 lbs).
